Laurel Meng is a con-woman, hired to exorcise ghost-infested houses.

When she arrives at Poppy Creek, a sweet bed and breakfast, she plans to plaster the place with fake Taoist talismans, set up cameras to feign paranormal activity and then solemnly declare the ghost is at peace. Anything to convince the owner, Annie, that her son has now passed over.

But Taika is a real spirit with no interest in switching realms. When Laurel begins to hear his voice, she realises she’s out of her depth… and also that there’s more badly amiss at Poppy Creek.

Who are the strange other guests? Why can Laurel talk to Taika? And how did Taika really die?
