The Turn of the Screw: Gilded Pocket Edition

This elegant hardback edition presents Henry James' classic horror novella, The Turn of the Screw, featuring deluxe cover embossing and gilded page edges.

The Turn of the Screw is a gothic ghost story, described by Oscar Wilde as 'a most wonderful, lurid, poisonous little tale'. An unnamed governess lives in an isolated country house with her two charges. When the governess begins to see ghostly apparitions roaming the grounds, she does everything she can to protect the children, but the situation soon spirals out of control.

This uneasy and sinister novella has influenced a number of films including The Innocents (1961) and The Others (2001), and remains one of the most iconic horror stories of all time.

This handsome pocket gift edition has real collector's appeal, featuring a facsimile of Henry James' signature on the title page, silver gilded page edges and beautifully designed endpapers.
