The Filthiest Corner of the House

One family. One cursed house. Three hundred years.

A unique, ambitious, and witty gothic horror puzzle-box, exploring over three centuries of hauntings across a single house in the North of England. Perfect for fans of Andrew Michael Hurley and Catriona Ward.

Mal is in trouble. Languishing in a prison cell after burning her family cottage, Delfling Hole, to the ground, she spends her days picking at the frayed ends of her relationship with her girlfriend Des, desperate to convince her of one thing: Delfling Hole was haunted. Cursed.

A small country cottage nestled in a dark, wet corner of the Peak District, Delfling Hole has been home to many, grave to many more, and as Mal leads Des through the tormented history of the house her family has lived in across the centuries, they uncover the terrifying stories of possessed women, seances gone wrong, children torturing their nannies…

Because Mal isn’t crazy, no matter what anyone says. No matter what her teachers and friends said in school, and no matter what Des believes. Delfling Hole’s three hundred years of hauntings, laid out in letters and articles, are proof of that.

They have to be… right?

A searing and ambitious found-footage take on the haunted house novel, this is a wildly inventive debut about one working class family, haunted across generations, marking the arrival of an extraordinary new voice in horror.
