Flotilla

'Exquisite, dazzling. . . brilliant, captivating debut' TESS GUNTY

A fragile world lit by the glow of stars. Two estranged sisters. The incendiary secret that will throw them back together.

Aboard a flotilla of city-sized spaceships, the remnants of humanity live steady but precarious lives, drifting through the cosmos.

Among them is Carina Loew. Freshly reassigned to a watchpost, where she monitors neighboring ships for damage, Carina is a young woman adrift. Still haunted by a childhood trauma that fractured her relationship with her older sister, Ursa, she’s just trying to find her place. Until this new role offers the possibility of something more – love, perhaps even happiness.

But the past can’t stay buried. As the twentieth anniversary of the Flotilla’s defining tragedy – the disappearance of the ship Pacific and the million souls onboard – stirs new tensions, Carina finds herself suddenly pulled back to Ursa.

Together they will have to reckon with not only their family history, but the history of their world – a reckoning that will have far-reaching consequences for all of humanity.

A mesmerising and heartrending epic about a future as complex and beautiful as our present, Flotilla asks what price you’d pay to survive – and how much you’d sacrifice in the name of truth.

‘Thrilling from its very first sentences. . . Exquisitely imagined, profound, and transporting’ KATE DOYLE
