A History of What Comes Next vil være en godbit for alle som liker spenningsromaner, men for dem som tilfeldigvis også har sans for romfartshistorie er dette rett og slett pensum. Handlingen er for det meste lagt til perioden mellom slutten av andre verdenskrig og starten av romkappløpet mellom USA og Sovjet, blandet med flashbacks til tidligere tidsepoker. Neuvel skriver sine karakterer inn i faktiske begivenheter og fører dem sammen med virkelige personer.
Dette er noe av det jeg liker ved Neuvels bøker: De gir meg opplevelsen av å lese om faktiske, historiske hendelser, og i denne romanen vever han sammen fakta og fiksjon med særskilt god effekt. En sci-fi thriller med masse action og mysterier, og en fascinerende hovedperson jeg aldri har sett maken til i noen fortelling før.
